Data that stays on your Mac
Your cat’s name, color, needs, fish bones, achievements, room layout and settings are stored in the app’s preferences on your Mac. They are not sent to us.
Permissions the app uses
- Accessibility: to read Dock icon positions, sizes, titles and badges. It does not record your screen content or keystrokes.
- Window positions and active app: used locally so Mochi can climb on windows and react to the app you use. Not stored or sent.
- Location (optional): an approximate location is read once for the weather.
Weather (optional)
If weather is enabled in Settings, Mochi occasionally checks the weather. For that, approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo. Without location permission, an approximate place is found from your network address with ipwho.is. These requests don’t pass through our servers; switch weather off in Settings to stop them.
Partner cat (optional)
If you use pairing, these details are kept in a record tied to the invite code on Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit): your cat’s name, color, accessory, what it is doing and when it was last online. The person you pair with can read this record. When you unlink, your record is deleted. This data is governed by Apple’s privacy terms; we do not store it on servers of our own.
Remember the name you give your cat is visible to the person you pair with, so avoid personal information.
Purchases
Payments are handled by a secure payment partner. We never receive your card details. The partner processes the information needed for orders and invoices (email, country, order contents) and confirms purchases to us.
This website
This site sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts or analytics, and serves its fonts itself. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (e.g. IP address, time) for technical reasons. If you email us, we use what you write only to reply to you.
Your rights
Under Turkish data protection law (KVKK) and, where it applies, the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. Send requests to info@nablacode.com .
Children
Mochi Dock does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes
If we update this policy we will change the date above and announce important changes in the release notes.
